Yes, Let's Talk About How To Succeed With Remote Interviewing and Hiring...
Hi, I'm Delmar Davis with meridiem.io.
If in the current situation you find yourself having to do remote interviewing and hiring, and you're not 100% comfortable and confident with the process, I've got something for you.
Before founding Meridiem, I did talent management for two big companies.
I did some back-of-the napkin math recently and found that I've done something more than 1000 remote interviews and selection processes.
Here are the two main things I learned from that…
First, RELAX...
Everything you know about screening candidates and behavioral interviewing still holds true and still counts.
That said, there are some subtle but important differences in the remote process for minimizing its restrictions and maximizing its effectiveness.
Second, and most important, you need an evidence-based, reliable, valid aptitude and personality assessment as part of your process.
Having such an assessment in place takes your accuracy and confidence up multiplicatively, maybe even exponentially.
The right assessment plugs the inevitable gaps that exist in an interview-only process, and that's especially important if you're juggling all the variables that go with transitioning to a remote process.
Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge advocate for behavioral interviewing (I taught it to operational partners for years), but even the best interviewers miss things that can be picked up by an evidence-based aptitude and personality assessment, raising accuracy and confidence to a whole new level.
If you'd like to talk about how to get an ideal assessment in place fast, fill out the contact form and I'll be in touch.
Or if you just want to brainstorm some about your remote hiring process, I'm available and happy to share the tactics I've learned.
Best,
Delmar
